Notes on Travel to Bangladesh 3 (Meals and Drinks)

We will explain in detail what you should be aware of when traveling to Bangladesh (meals, drinks, etc.).

About Meal

As in India, curry is a common food in Bangladesh. For those who are not good at spices or who get tired of curry-only meals, there are Western restaurants at luxury hotels in large cities, intermediate hotels and Chinese restaurants in the city. Bangladesh, also called the river country, often eats fish dishes. In the restaurant, cooked dishes such as curry, and unpeeled fruits such as bananas and tangerines are safe, but be careful of salads, cut fruits, and desserts made with raw vegetables. Foods sold on the street are not recommended even if they are cooked due to problems such as storage, dust and flies. If you eat, please eat immediately after cooking. The ordinary Bangladeshi people eat curry using only their right hand dexterously like Indians. Shops with spoons and forks will serve you. If you eat by hand, be sure to wash your hands before eating. In addition, some people use a lot of spices and oils that they are not accustomed to eating. It is better to refrain from oil when you are not feeling well.

About Mineral Water

Bottled mineral water is sold everywhere, so you can get it easily. The price varies depending on the place of purchase, but in a general bazaar, you can purchase 1 liter in 10-15TK. Please do not drink tap water or well water because the water component (quality) is different from Japan. Make sure that the lid is properly closed when purchasing. Make sure the lid is properly closed even if it is in the hotel.
