About chip
In Sri Lanka there is a tipping habit. Tip (service charge) may be added at hotels and restaurants, so check the receipt. If not, give it in cash at the same time as the payment, or write a tip for a credit card. It is customary to deliver Rs. 20-50 when you bring your luggage to the room or ask for room service.
About exchange
Exchange to Sri Lanka rupee in Japan is not possible. You can exchange money at Colombo Airport, hotels and city exchange offices. When you exchange money and receive money, let's check not only the number but also the torn. Also, be sure to receive a foreign currency purchase certificate (receipt) when you exchange money. Sri Lankan rupee is prohibited from being taken out. You can present the exchange certificate and re-exchange to US dollars, but because the rate is bad, we recommend that you exchange as much as you can use up little by little.
About Traveler's Check (T / C)
There are few hotels and stores where travelers' checks (T / C) can be used directly. It will be used after being exchanged for cash at the bank. Some banks may refuse to accept it. In addition, when you make a traveler's check in cash, there is a fee depending on the location. Credit cards are generally visa cards and master cards, and there are few places where JCB can be used.
