In Sri Lanka there is a tipping habit. Tip (service charge) may be added at hotels and restaurants, so check the receipt. If not, give it in cash at the same time as the payment, or write a tip for a credit card. It is customary to deliver Rs. 20-50 when you bring your luggage to the room or ask for room service.

About exchange

Exchange to Sri Lanka rupee in Japan is not possible. You can exchange money at Colombo Airport, hotels and city exchange offices. Sri Lankan rupee is prohibited from being taken out.
