Nepal visa application

A visa is required to enter Nepal.

If you are a Japanese citizen, you will need a visa to enter Nepal.
The required passport validity period when applying for a visa is 6 months or more, and the required blank visa is 1 page or more. You can obtain it at the airport when you arrived in Nepal, the immigration office at the land border.
You can only get a tourist visa if you get it in Japan. You can apply at the Nepalese Embassy in Tokyo and the Nepalese Consulate in Osaka and Fukuoka. (Applications and receipts can be made by mail only at the Tokyo embassy.)
Necessary documents are application form (prepared by the embassy / consulate or downloaded from the website), ID photo (4.5㎝ × 3.5㎝) ), Original passport, application fee. The application fee is 3,000 yen for 15 days, 5,000 yen for 30 days, and 12,000 yen for 90 days. Please fill in the application form correctly as it may not be accepted if it is not filled in. Application time is from 10:00 am to 12:00, and the receipt date is from 2 pm to 4 pm on the business day after the date of application. Please note that it may be closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays due to the circumstances of the embassy.
The place to obtain upon arrival, the necessary items are application form (prepared on board or at the border immigration office), ID photo (4.5 x 3.5), passport (remaining validity period 6 months, 1 page of visa margin) Application fee (cash payment). The application fee is US $ 25 for 15 days, US $ 40 for 30 days, and US $ 100 for 90 days. Visas will be issued on the spot.

Nepal travel essentials

  • Tissue paper
  • There are not many places where toilet paper is placed other than toilets in hotels and restaurants for foreigners

    There is no place where you can wash your hands like wet tissue in Japan, and water is valuable, so it is very useful.

  • Since
  • there are not so many insect bites and insect repellents in Nepal, we recommend that you bring them.

  • Although
  • you can purchase regular medicines such as antidiarrhea and gastrointestinal drugs in Nepal, Japanese people often have strong effects, so it is safe to drink.

  • Sunscreen Cream
  • Nepal's sunlight is strong even in winter, so sunscreen cream is a necessity. Sunglasses and hats are also recommended.

  • Folding umbrellas
  • are very helpful during the rainy season. Can be used as a parasol even in the dry season.

  • If you
  • usually use a watch on your mobile phone, don't forget. You may not be able to charge the phone locally.

  • Flashlight
  • frequently occur in Nepal. We recommend that you prepare a small one as it may be needed on the go.
