We will explain in detail about things you should be aware of when traveling in Nepal (such as entry, hotel, currency, tip, currency exchange).
About entry

There are air and land routes to Nepal.
When entering the country, you will be asked to show your "Immigration Card", "Passport" and "Visa". Please follow the staff's instructions.

Local guide

For guided tours, a Japanese guide will meet you at the airport on the day of arrival and take care of you until the airport on the final day.
We will also guide you in sightseeing spots, so you can enjoy traveling with peace of mind. In addition, the free plan will help you pick up and drop off from the airport to your hotel upon request. Please contact us for details.

The Hotel

The facilities for foreign tourists are fully equipped, but the intermediate class and guesthouses may not have air conditioning in the room or may have hot water when taking a bath. Some hotels do not have a bathtub.

Currency

Nepal currency is the same as India. Rs. (Rs.) And Paisa (P), 1 rupees will be 100 Pais. Sometimes called Nepalese Rupee to distinguish it from Indian Rupee.
There are 8 types of coins: P5, P10, P25, P50, Rs1, Rs2, Rs5, Rs10, but they are not in circulation. There are 10 types of banknotes: Rs1, Rs2, Rs5, Rs10, Rs20, Rs25, Rs50, Rs100, Rs500, Rs1000. It is difficult to exchange Rs1000 banknotes, and drivers such as small shops and taxis do not have a change, so it is easier to use with a small banknote. Also, if the banknotes are torn, they may be refused. Please check carefully when changing or changing money.

About chip

The tip is just feeling. Pay when you receive a comfortable service. As a rule of thumb, a tip or pillow tip for a porter (per suitcase) who brought your luggage to your room at your accommodation is around 20-50 rupees. In addition, tips from customers are a source of income for Japanese guides and drivers. I would appreciate it if you could give it.

About exchange

Indian, Nepal and Sri Lankan currencies cannot be exchanged in Japan.
You can exchange in Japanese yen at tourist sites such as Kathmandu and Pokhara. Banks, government-approved money changers (Money Changer) and intermediate and higher hotels are also available.
Since rates vary depending on money changers and hotels, confirmation is required before changing. When changing money, be sure to check the banknotes and get a change certificate. If you do not receive a currency exchange certificate, be sure to request it.
You will need it to re-exchange rupee into foreign currency. The amount that can be re-exchanged is 15% of the amount indicated on the receipt and can only be re-exchanged in US dollars.
In addition, we recommend that you do not change too much money and change small bills frequently.

About Traveler's Check (T / C)

If you have a large amount of money or if you lose it, you can reissue it. However, in Nepal, there is a fee for each T / C, and it is often not possible to use it at general stores, so it would be more convenient to prepare cash.
Credit cards are limited to hotels such as Kathmandu and Pokhara and souvenir shops, but they are convenient for large purchases and domestic airline tickets.
